This product is great. I used it for about a year (after it was improved) and is better than the alternatives. Then I had to re-format my hard drive- Instead of windows 7 the guy put windows 7 ultimate on my hard drive. I used technitium once or twice again and worked great- but then suddenly stopped working. Even when I can get it to say that it has changed th MAc (instead of giving an error reject message) when I check my Mac address from dos prompt 'getmac' the mac address has NOT been changed. I have tried all permeutations possible on the interface, but with no success. and also now the other product I once used does not work also. So I am eating my brain- any ideas anyone?ReplyDelete
Garbage Software. does not work with windows 8.ReplyDelete
lost a users shame on you guys.
It didn't work for you doesn't mean it wont for others. You should read this blog post and comments for understanding why it didn't work and how you could make it work.Delete
I opened it and it saidReplyDelete

Please fix it ASAP
Just delete this file "C:\Program Files (x86)\Technitium\TMACv6.0\tmacv6.set" and it should work.Delete
I also have same problem but now fixed, ThanskDelete
Hi, It worked, I applied this fix by removing the file "C:\Program Files (x86)\Technitium\TMACv6.0\tmacv6.set" as the friend said, and the problem was fixed. ThanksDelete

I'm getting this error every time...Have to use winsock reset to get my internet to work again after this error. I have also tried to use device manager to change my mac, no error comes up, but I lose internet connection anyway. Any advice on how to fix this?
Thanks for the feedback. I have received similar feedback from some users. I will try to check the issue and get it fixed.Delete
buddy its not working on my windows 8.1. I am using huawei dongle to access internet but when i try to change mac adress it says ' failed to change mac adress set first octet as 02 ' i tried doing that too but didnt work for me .ReplyDelete
TMAC works only for wired Ethernet and WiFi Ethernet adapters. USB dongle is basically a modem which is based on a point-to-point connection.Delete
hello I am having trouble. when I first installed it, it worked perfectly but then it just stopped working. First the error (457) this key is already associated with an element of this collection then if I keep trying it opens up but without and network connections showing then the error run-time 457 again. I have tried reinstalling enabling then disabling by network adapters it just wont seem to workReplyDelete
Try deleting this file 'tmacv6.set' from the installation folder and try again.Delete
tried that as well sirDelete
Just email me a screenshot of the complete main windows so that I can get some clues with the situation.Delete
I have W7 x64 with a good connection.

Thanks for your reply :)
Your ISP may be using MAC address to authenticate users. Many cable internet providers do this. Check with your ISP.Delete
Hello! Thank you for the great app. I have the latest version installed on xp, and 8.1pro machine. Usb wifi airlive (rtl 8187), work like charm with "02", but a strange thing happens on both systems. When you turn on the pc, the wifi connection on the xp goes "connect-reconnect" before you do the step again to change the mac. Same when it wakes from sleep (then you can see in the tool the native mac instead of the changed). On 8.1 pro, something similar, the wifi connects fine when you turn on the machine, and then after a while it can't connect to the router. You go change the mac again (works also if you reset the same mac again) and works like charm. The difference here is that it works after sleep. Any ideas how to fix the bug? Thanks in advance! Big up! NevenReplyDelete
Thanks for the compliments. I guess it must be some issue with the usb wifi device since the software is just to edit the registry settings for you. Try to install latest drivers for the device if available and check if the issue persists.Delete
Thanks for the reply. I am sure is not about the drivers themselves, because i have new drivers on both systems. I tried with airlive/windows connection manager. I read somewhere that you intended the app for integrated wifi only, it must be some catch/difference between the usb and onboard wifi. Maybe add some registry key to hold the usb wifi values? Does the app install some drivers/layers/services that are trying to do something on startup (if so probably the usb adapter is not recognized for some reason, some id changes or something), or it runs only when you run the exe? Thanks again! Cheers!ReplyDelete
The app only edits registry value which the network adapter driver reads. App does not install any drivers or do anything other than editing the registry value. There are many usb wifi devices whose drivers dont read the registry value and so it doesnt work with them. The issue you are facing must be something related to the device or the drivers itself.Delete
First thank you very much for the great software, I use it daily !
Is it compatible with Windows 10 ?
If not, when do you think that it will be ?
It should work on Windows 10 for most people. I had just tested it once using the technical preview release and it worked well.Delete
Thank you very much for your quick answer ! Your software is exceptionally useful !Delete
Thanks for the compliments!Delete
You state it will work on Windows 10 for most people. Do you why it wouldn't work for others?Delete
Its the same reason why it works for most people on Windows Vista, 7 & 8. For details check out this blog post: http://blog.technitium.com/2011/05/tmac-issue-with-wireless-network.htmlDelete
at first - thank you for the great software :)
The GUI Mode works pretty well for me but i'm currently struggling with
the cmd mode.
Here's the problem:
whenever i try to execute the following command "tmax myConnection -r" the program quits with the following error:
"91 Object variable or with block variable not set"
OS: Windows 7 x64
MacChanger Version 6.0.6
Looks like a problem in the args parser?
Thanks for the feedback. I am unable to get the same error but still will try to find the condition that triggers this.Delete
Hey there, i got a huge problem:ReplyDelete
I did the windows 10 update while running TMAC (just forgot it).
Now i'm not able to restore my original MAC address. It says: "Failed to restore original MAC Address". although everything else works just fine.
Is there anything I can do about it?
Hey, don't worry, it should be due to TMAC getting confused since win10 must have made changes to network adapter settings. Just read this blog post and follow steps: http://blog.technitium.com/2014/06/fixing-wrong-original-mac-address-in.htmlDelete
i love TMAC very much. before, i pondered on how i would once again reconnect online after i had dumped my isp due to rising internet costs. TMAC is a godsend. now all it needs is another program to work in conjunction with TMAC so as to totally bypass the pesky wifi signup/complimentary signup page (xfinity) ten stars! -cheers!ReplyDelete
Hey this works when I first turn on my computer but when I try to change it, it crashes & disables my wifi. I have to turn my computer off then back on and run a troubleshooter to get my wifi back on. Only for it to happen again. I have windows 8. I'm using xfinity wifi.ReplyDelete
Can you send me a screenshots of the issue that you are describing?Delete
whenever i try to use the software i get this message . so i will like to know what i am doign wrong failed to change MAC address for wireless network connection .Set he first octet of MAC address as '02' and try again my email is firstname.lastname@example.orgDelete
Just posting this here for reference. (Windows7Pro_x64)ReplyDelete
I was using Tmac v6.0.3 and I could not update the vendors list (OUI) ... some error about encoding of the file, noticed the changes in the newer version were supposed to have fixed that. so i updated to Tmac 6.0.6 via the "check for software updates" option in tmac. I was able to download and install the newer 6.0.6 version... but when i tried to update the OUI and it said something about not being able to access the file.
It game ne this error no matter what i did, administrator / non administrator, changing permissions, taking owenrship of files, deleting tmacv6.set... nothing worked. The only thing that solved this problem was uninstalling Tmac completely, and downloading Tmac6.0.6 and installing a fresh install. Only then I was able to update the OUI.
So if you are having trouble, just try a fresh installation of the newest version. Hope this helps.
thanks for posting feedback!Delete
Hello and thanks for your great work.ReplyDelete
Unfortunately I've got an issue trying to change the mac address on the ethernet with the following error message every time:
Error 2: cannot find the file
I seems that some registry key is missing or corrupt. Will check the error details and find out. You can try to reinstall the network adapter drivers from Device Manager and see if that gets fixed. To do it, open Device Manager, find the network adapter device in the list, uninstall it, and scan for hardware changes from Action menu to get it installed automatically.Delete
Hi, having a problem. Just downloaded windows 10 & the latest version of tmac. everything works fine except for when I try to restore my original wifi mac address my computer freezes & I have to restart it because this is the only way I can get my network adapter to work again. Any ideas why this is happening?ReplyDelete
The problem is due to the network adapter not getting disabled and this freezes TMAC window. You can open device manager and disable the network adapter from there yourself to get things moving. Don't know the reason for this, I too have it with one of my laptop.Delete
Hi I cannot change the Mac Address to 00-08-54-AF-D0-03 ... it´s a valid address from another realtek card that I have... it fails everytimeReplyDelete

Hi! I have used TMAC Changer for a number of years and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you for all of your hard work.ReplyDelete
I have recently found myself needing to use the command line to perform tasks in tmac. However, everytime I try to run a cmd (even those that are listed on the "Help" page), I get the following response:
'tmac' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
I tried searching for a solution, and the only thing that I came up with was to make sure that my PATH was correct (and it is: C:\Windows\System32). Have any idea on what could be preventing me from using the cmd line prompts?
Thanks for your hard work once again!
Thanks for the compliments. Just make sure that you are in the TMAC installation directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Technitium\TMACv6.0) before running the command. If you wish to run the command from any where, then just add that directory path to the PATH environment variable.Delete
Any chance that you have successfully tested the latest version with Windows 10? If not when would this version be available? I understand that the core is very similar to Windows 8 but I don't want to be the tester :P Hope you understand. CheersReplyDelete
Yes, it has been tested on Windows 10.Delete

I have win XP I use tmac 1 time only once i restarted my computer it gives me error of this type "unknown error. Please, reinstall the software." thats it please help me what do i do i have urgent need :( please help meReplyDelete
You will need to reinstall TMAC. This error is an indication that the TMAC application file is corrupt. You may also want to scan your computer with a good updated antivirus since some virus can infect other applications.Delete
Hello! Tell me please, when you install the program, it appears on the screen:ReplyDelete
"ERROR! Technitium Installer v4.4 will now quit.

what could be the problem?
Just send a screenshot of the error and details of your operating system to email@example.com.Delete
why does my computer shuts down each time i run TMAC address changerReplyDelete
Your computer shutting down has nothing to do with TMAC. There may be some issue specific to the computer which needs to be figured out. A system restore may help in fixing it.Delete
Hi Shreyas Zare,ReplyDelete

Amazing app! Worked fine for awhile but now on windows 10 when I change my mac address it just *NON RESPONDING* and I have to close it and re open it but then my network just gets disabled and, I have to restart my computer for it to turn my network back on?! What do I do for it to just change the mac address and, not disable my internet until i restart? Thanks! email is email@example.com in case you need to email me something.ReplyDelete
It looks like that TMAC is unable to disable the network adapter and thus is not responding. You can uncheck "Automatically restart network connection.." option and try changing MAC address. You will need to manually disable and enable the network adapter to apply changes.Delete
Well what happens is when i go to use the Tmac changerv6.0.7 I select ((wifi,-Random Mac address,-Check all 3 boxes,-Change now)). Then it freezes and, after about 5 secs it says non responding an then I have to Ctrl+Shift+Esc then end task and, re open it and, the wi-fi box will be unchecked or, checked either one if checked it still disables my wi-fi and, forces me to restart my computer to get my internet back on. An if it manual check the boxes it will freeze making me go back to end task and, start it back up and, manually check them again but still no matter what after I hit the "change now" it disables my network and, forces me to restart my computer. What do I do to fix this. I even tried going to the network and enabling my network from their but all it does is say enabling and, then still does nothing an then still having to shut down my computer an start it back up but afterwords it does change an the network comes back on. But I want it back to were I click "change now" an it changes and disconnects from the internet but then I was able to reconnect in about 3 secs/ an now network crash until restart.. Sorry for essay but I really want this app back to it's normal state. Ty for quick response by the way!Delete
The network connection list checkbox are there to enable/disable the network adapter individually and not to do any type of combined operation on multiple network connections. Your computer is having issue with enabling/disabling network adapters from the API call. So TMAC freezes when trying to disable network adapter. I would suggest you to reinstall the network adapter drivers to fix any issue caused by registry corruption.Delete
You can try changing mac address without TMAC disabling/enabling the network connection. You can do that manually from Windows Network Connections or Device Manager. You do not need to restart to fix it.Delete
I am running windows 8.1 on a PC and on a laptop. TMAC works great on my PC, no problems at all. On my laptop, though, it will change the MAC address once successfully, then if I try again, it will hang forever. I have to kill the process and then reboot in order for it to work again. I read what you just said to Anonymous and Bryan and will try this solution.ReplyDelete
everytime i get this i also tried it with the 02 function but it doesnt work.
what should i do.
Please email another screenshot without the error dialog box and the Ethernet 2 adapter selected to firstname.lastname@example.org.Delete
I have a friend who uses your Mac address changer and it works great for them.
But on my computer whenever I try to change the Mac address it goes to the blue screen and says memory dump file. I them have to go to safe mode and set my computer to an earlier time. And this happens with whatever technique I am using to change the address.
Can you tell me a way I might be able to fix this? Thank you.
Getting blue screen is indication of having issue with device drivers or the hardware. You can try to disable & enable network adapter device from Device Manager and see if you get same error. You can try to download latest network adapter drivers and install them to see if that fixes it. For changing MAC address, TMAC writes to registry and then disables & enables the network adapter to apply changes. Most issues occur while disabling the network adapter.Delete
My network adapter is broadcom 802.11ac and I keep getting blue screensReplyDelete
Reinstall the network adapter drivers. It may be due to corrupt driver files or may also be due to hardware issue.Delete
using bootcamp (windows on mac)?Delete

Reinstall the drivers once and see if that fixes the issue.Delete
works for a while then bluescreens for all!!! have to go into safe mode to fix :(Delete
You should try Window repair to fix if any system file is corrupt. If this issue still occurs then its mostly hardware issue.Delete
Boot from Windows 10 DVD and use the repair option.Delete
I tried to change the mac address of my wifi adapter but it failed . I tried changing it manually in reg edit ( yes i know how to) but it failed . Will this work with a wireless pcie card? (not usb dongle)ReplyDelete
Most USB dongles have issues for sure from feedback I receive. I am not 100% sure but a PCIe card should work since most onboard NIC cards use PCIe bus internally.Delete

help me please
Thanks for the feedback. The current version of TMAC is not in active development so wont be possible to fix any issues. There is however a plan to rewrite TMAC with latest .NET 5 which will fix most issues with the old version. There is no timeline for the new release though but should be available before end of year.Delete
Hello, a suggestion since you are going to rewrite the program. That presets can be sorted. I have many and it is crazy to look for them. Thank youDelete
Thanks for that suggestion. Will keep that in mind.Delete
