Technitium MAC Address Changer v6.0.3 Released

New update for Technitium MAC Address Changer is available for direct download and via Automatic Updates. You can download the complete setup from here. Separate update is available to download from here.

Official torrent for the complete setup can be downloaded from here.

The software will check for update automatically as per a fixed schedule. If you want the update before the automatic update triggers, just start the software, click on Help > Check For Software Updates menu to get it done instantly.

The update fixes minor bugs with IP and DNS settings. A new option to display network traffic speed in bytes/second instead of bits/second is available under the Options menu.

If you find any problem with the latest update just post a comment below. You may send screenshot(s) of the software if there is any critical issue to support (at) technitium (dot) com.

    Thank you for your hard work. Many of MAC Address changer are too old and does not work. This one works fine on Windows 7 and have advance feature. I love it. Rate 5 star on CNET! :D

      Its a standard error dialog. I would fix it such that it shows specific message according to the settings provided. Your driver is not allowing to change the MAC address on the network adapter. You can try to update or downgrade the driver and check if it works.

      Just uninstall TMACv6, delete the 'tabctl32.ocx' file from 'C:\Windows\System32' (for x64 OS use 'C:\Windows\SysWOW64').

      Now, just run TMACv6 setup and it will install the new version of the 'tabctl32.ocx' file. Email me if it didn't work.

    I installed the program and when I run it, it generates an error that TABCTL32.OCX is missing or invalid or one of its dependencies is not registered correctly. I tried everything, uninstall and instal again. The TABCTL32 is there and it is not missing. I even tried to run it under compatibility mode, and under admin rights....Basically anything I could think of...

      Just right click on the TABCTL32.OCX file, click 'Open With', browse "regsvr32.exe" file in 'C:\Windows\System32' folder and click OK. This will register the file with the system. After this try running the software again.

      I guess the UAC in Windows 7 must have prevented proper registration of the file. Try again with running CMD as Administrator and give the command regsvr32 TABCTL32.OCX (considering that you are in SysWOW64 folder on 64bit OS).

      If it doesnt work then just copy paste the file into the folder where TMAC.exe is installed and try running the software.

      Did as instructed and registration was succesful but running the program produced the same error. Then copied TABCTL32.OCX to the folder where TMAX.EXE was installed and I got same error upon running the program :-(

      I guess there is some problem with the OS or the file system. The OCX file is automatically registered by the TMAC setup. In your case that didnt work and neither did manual registration. I cant further guess whats wrong with the system.

      Hi Platano, if uninstalling TMAC, deleting the tabctl32.ocx and reinstalling TMAC didnt work then there is not much I can do to help. There might be some issue with windows or the file system.

    What about "delete network adapter from registry"? How can I use this feature?

      What error message you get when you try to check for updates?

      The "delete network adapter" option is useful in case when you physically remove the network adapter from the machine without uninstalling the device drivers. You would see the removed adapter in the TMAC adapter list since the registry entries for the device still exists. You can use this option to cleanup the registry entries.

      It may be that your ISP has MAC filtering in place to stop unauthorized access to its network.

      Hi Teji. Check with your ISP if they have MAC Filtering in place. Some ISPs have it implemented for network security. Unknown MAC addresses are not allowed to connect to the network in such cases.

    Hi, i got a filter on my mac adress and when i try to change it with the software, it s written : mac adress changed but when i launch the software again, the adress is still the same and i cant connect to internet. Moreover, changing mac adress work on my netbook.. in the wifi parameter thzre is à network adress option, which i bave not on my pc.. tell me how to do please :((

      hey guys i cant get my tmacv6 to change, can anyone explain why its not working ive had it working b4 but i reset my computer n its not doing it anymore. i saw something about my dns but i dont know what it could be cuz i tried trouble shooting things. any sugestions or links that will explain it to me . thanks :)

      unfortunately it wont work, i have tried it at least 5 times. installed as admin, started as admin.

      im using win7 64bit sp1, comodo firewall, comodo defense+ is disabled, avira antivir, cable internet, no router, two network adapters (Realtek and TAP adapter for vpn)

      Try to do this:
      1. Uninstall the software
      2. Find and delete the file 'MSCHRT20.OCX'
      3. Run the setup again. The setup will install this missing file.

    uninstalled it two times and deleted MSCHRT20.OCX (SysWOW64) each time
    and intalled new, after the installtion starting TMAC again same error :/

    i downloaded TMACv6.0.3_Setup.zip from your homepage two times.

    looks like the issue is on my system :(

      Looks like issue with your system itself. You can try to manually register the OCX file from CMD by giving this command regsvr32 MSCHRT20.OCX

    Hello!

    When i change mac address the connection get lost and i cant acces to internet if i restore its ok why? You said to ask if ISP have MAC Filtering in place how to bypass this. Anyway it was working before only now it doesnt.

      It actually depends on network config. If the ISP has indeed implemented MAC filtering, it cannot be bypassed. Only registered MAC addresses will be allowed to pass through. It will be much clear if you can confirm with your ISP.

      Thanks for the compliments. You can get DNS dynamically only by using DHCP. There is no other way to do it. This is how network is designed and its not an issue with the software.

    Are you still supporting TMAC ? It doesnt appear to be working on my system I tried the 02 octet workaround but it seems to me Windows is ignoring the locally administered MAC Address of my wireless card, and it is also ignoring the accociated registry key. I edided the registry manually changing the MAC Address, I know I edited the correct key because the wireless card configeration, locally administered MAC address setting changed to match the new registry value, but ipconfig /all reveals my original MAC address is the one being used.

      I am aware of this issue. It happens only times when the oui.txt file is updated by IEEE and they have messed up the text formatting. I am working out code to detect it and read the file properly. When done the update will be available through the automatic update feature.

      I am aware of this issue. Is due to some out of sequence characters in the IEEE OUI text file. This issue will be resolved soon.

    hey man!!! this is an amazing program!! thank you! i have question for you, i am trying to run 1 preset from cmd line and i got a 91object variable error or block not set, also tried to reset mac address thru cmd line and it doesn't find the network that i need. however with the software i can change mac address no problem.

      Looks like the settings file is corrupt. Just delete the 'tmacv6.set' file and start TMAC again.

      It seems the TMAC.exe file is corrupt. It may be that your computer is infected with virus and it has infected the software. This error will only occur when the self file integrity check fails.

      It seems the TMAC.exe file is corrupt. It may be that your computer is infected with virus and it has infected the software. This error will only occur when the self file integrity check fails. If your computer is indeed infected, reinstalling TMAC wont help since the TMAC.exe file will be infected again. You should reformat your computer and not use any of the executable files on the computer. You should download all drivers & software files again to be on safer side. Make sure you use original windows CD/DVD.

    Getting the following error suddenly:

    Error:(9) Subscript out of range

    Tried reinstalling, but the .exe says it's constantly in use when trying to remove. I'm forced to restart computer and delete before it will remove successfully. Then after reinstall, the error persists. Completely unable to access application on Windows 10 with latest updates.

    "The path "C:\MSOCache\All\Users\{90140000-0011-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE}C\ProPlusWW.msi' cannot be found.Verify that you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the insatllation package 'ProPlusWW.msi'in a folder from which you can insatll the product Microsoft Office Professional PLus2 2010."

      This is not an issue with TMAC setup but, with some system files on your computer. Try to google "ProPlusWW.msi" and you will find some solutions to fix this.

    I fixed the error with Tabctl32.ocx
    Open a command prompt with Administrator privileges

    cd\
    cd %systemroot%\syswow64
    regsvr32 /u tabctl32.ocx
    regsvr32 tabctl32.ocx

    And now it worked

      You're a legend mate! Also if you cant change the "tabctl32.ocx". Find it in ur SysWOW64 and go into properties and turn off "write protection" or whatever its called and then you should be able to do it.

      There are no presets available except the once that are included. You can create your own presets easily as per your requirements and use them.
